The short version: your pig lives in your browser, not on our server. Your photo never leaves your browser. What does reach us is a random browser-made name, a count of days kept, and — only if you choose to write one — a short public note. Nothing else.

What we do not collect

What stays on your device

Your pig's colour, its age, how many times you fed it, when you last visited, which wings it wanted and which it got — all of this is stored in your browser's local storage under the key mypig.v1.

It is not backed up anywhere. If you clear your browser data, the pig is gone. That is why we offer a recovery code: it is a Base64 copy of that same data, which you can copy and keep yourself. We cannot regenerate it for you.

You can erase everything at any time from the link in the footer of the main page.

What we do collect

Four things, and only these four.

1. A random name for your browser. The first time you keep a day, your browser makes up a random string like umw1j801rvd2frh1s and stores it locally. It is not derived from your device, your IP address, or anything about you. We use it for one purpose: so that a single day of keeping cannot be counted twice. It is sent to us with each day you keep.

2. A count. When you keep a day, we add one to a number. That number is shown on the site as how many people are doing this with you. It is a count, not a record — we do not keep a list of who kept what day.

3. A message you choose to write, if you choose to write one. After seven days of keeping, you may write one short note — a promise, a dedication, a line for someone. This is optional and off by default. If you write one:

Please do not write your real name, your address, your workplace, or anything you would not want a stranger to read. Once published, it is public.

4. A push subscription, if you choose to turn reminders on. Reminders are off by default. If you turn them on, your browser gives us a subscription address and encryption keys so that your browser — not us — can deliver the notification. Alongside it we store the time zone offset and the hour you last kept a day, so the reminder arrives at roughly the time you actually show up, not at a fixed hour we picked. We do this deliberately: the reminder carries no content about your plan, only a line from the pig. You can turn reminders off at any time from your browser settings, and the subscription is then deleted from our server.

What we no longer collect: there is no email form on this site. We do not ask for your email address anywhere in the game, and we do not run a mailing list.

What we never collect

Payments

Payments are processed by Creem, which acts as the merchant of record. When you buy something, Creem — not us — collects and handles your card details, your billing address, and any tax information required by your jurisdiction. We never see your card number.

We receive only what is needed to confirm the purchase: an order identifier, the product you bought, and your email address so we can reach you about the order. Creem's own privacy policy governs the data they hold.

Hosting

This site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical data required to deliver a page to you — your IP address and standard request headers — and may keep short-lived logs for security and abuse prevention. We do not have access to those logs beyond aggregate traffic counts.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection law, you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.

What we can actually do, honestly: if you have written a public note, we can delete it — send us the text or a screenshot and the approximate day, and we will remove it. We cannot search for your other data, because the only identifier we hold is a random string, and we have no way to know which one is yours unless you tell us (you can read it from your browser's local storage under mypig.uid).

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly allow them to write public notes, and we ask that you do not. If you believe a child has published something here, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note the change on this page and update the date at the top. We will not retroactively widen what we do with data you already gave us.
